The New Orleans Pelicans are tied with the Lakers for the worst record in the Western Conference. 0-4. And as i look at that Win-Loss record, I’m starting to think about my MVP pick, which just so happens to be Anthony Davis. Now even though it’s an individual award, the MVP has to be on a Playoff team. You can’t be league MVP AND waiting to see who your team is picking 1st in the 2016 NBA Draft.
We forget to realise that past Anthony Davis, the Pelicans are pretty mediocre. And it’s only now we’re noticing this. But Davis is a leader, he knows that he is adding on the terrible record.
“I’m always frustrated, I just want to be the best I can be to help the team win,” Davis said. ”I feel I’m not doing it right now. All the frustration is on me. They’re giving me great opportunities and I can’t find a way to put the ball in the basket.” Davis was unable to break trend of struggling through another slow start. He was held to eight points in the first half on 1-of-6 shooting. Davis also had problems after halftime, going 2-of-6 from the field for six points.
“I think our offense didn’t have any rhythm to it,” Gentry said. ”We just got a lot of work to do. It’s time to do it right away. We’re not getting movement, not getting cuts or ball movement. We getting the ball stuck on one side of the floor. We had one of our best practices yesterday.”
So since Gentry has said that they’ve had their “best practices” I guess we should expect their first regular season win?
I’m starting to get the feeling that we gave into the hype and we’re now getting battered for it. Anthony Davis MVP is anything but that at the moment.
