
Coming off a huge night on the road against the Nuggets, James Harden, Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets hosted the New Orleans Pelicans looking for a good division win. Anthony Davis and his Pelicans had other plans as he lead them to a 99-90 win in Houston.
Anthony Davis had 30 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the New Orleans Pelicans and he continues to lead the NBA MVP race. Jrue Holiday helped Davis as he scored 16 points with 10 assists on the night. Austin Rivers got the start at shooting guard and scored 10 points while dishing out 6 assists. Ryan Anderson came off the bench to score 16 points and grab 6 rebounds and Dante Cunningham continues to play well with the Pelicans as he scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
James Harden led the Rockets with 21 points, a far reach from his 41 he scored the night before against the Nuggets. Harden shot 8-23 on the night though but had 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Dwight Howard had 17 points with 13 rebounds on the night and Trevor Ariza scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Both of these teams need to start winning and fast due to the new acquisition by their division rival Dallas Mavericks, bringing in a new point guard to the fold.
New Orleans Pelicans are 13-12. Houston Rockets are 19-6.
