New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis could play tonight against the Detroit Pistons. Davis has missed the previous six games the Pelicans have played. Anthony Davis is considered a ‘game-time decision’ for the Pelicans battle against the Detroit Pistons tonight at 7 p.m.
Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans website released a statement earlier saying:
“His shoulder has improved in recent days and “feels good” on the morning of Wednesday’s home gameday, but a final determination on Anthony Davis’ status will be determined later today. Davis (right shoulder), who has missed the past six games due to injury, is a game-time decision for the 7 p.m. contest against the Detroit Pistons.
“I’ve been getting treatment, getting back strong,” the two-time All-Star said after participating in Pelicans shootaround. “It feels better, so we’ll see how it is prior to the game, closer to game time.”
The shoulder injury occurred on February 7th, in a game against the Chicago Bulls. You can watch the injury to Davis here:
Anthony Davis was forced to missed the NBA’s All Star Game due to this injury so he hopes to get back on the court as soon as possible.
During the Pelicans’ Tuesday practice, Anthony Davis was going through some contact drills and he hopes to play against the Pistons tonight.
The Pelicans have played six games without Davis, winning five of them. With the Pelicans holding on to the eight seed in the West, it’ll be great for them to have their MVP caliber player back in the lineup.
Davis is averaging almost 24 points per contest as well as 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. Anthony Davis has gotten many Most Valuable Player mentions this year and we hope to see him play soon!
