The New Orleans Pelicans have had a rough start to the season after setting high expectations coming off of a playoff season. A huge part of the lack of success has been due to numerous injuries suffered by key rotation players. The team nearly suffered the ultimate injury during Friday night’s 111-90 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers.
In the third quarter of the game, Davis collided with Chris Paul as Paul attempted to draw contact while driving to the rim:
Davis injured his knee and had to be carried off the court and into the locker room by teammates. The sight was certainly a scary one, but luckily, it seems that it was not as serious as originally feared:
Medical staff says @PelicansNBA Anthony Davis suffered a Right knee contusion in collision w/ CP3, no structural damage. Questionable return

Davis did not return to the game, but he did return to the bench which is a good sign. We will continue to update the situation as more details become available.
