Recently retired Anthony Davis shocked the football world when he decided to hang up his cleats at the age of 25. Now Davis is saying he may in fact be taking a sabbatical rather than calling it a career for good.
Davis wrote on Twitter that he does expect to play “in a year or so,”. The 5th year pro may be trying to recover from an injury plagued season which cost him 9 games a year ago.
I’ll be back in a year or so.. I’ll be 26 or 27 years old. Im taking this time to allow my Brain and Body time to heal and recoup.

49ers owner Jed York wished the all pro right tackle the best of luck in the future as he is still under contract.
I appreciate it, Jed. https://t.co/55ECQVmAQ5

Davis becomes the 4th player on San Francisco’s roster including Patrick Willis, Justin Smith, and Chris Borland. After losing guard Mike Iupati to the Cardinals this offensive line looks drastically different from last season.
