Last night it SHOULD have been a close and interesting game between Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans against his hometown Chicago Bulls. This would have happened if midway through the second quarter Anthony Davis didn’t crash down after dunking an alley-oop .If you happened to miss the play here it is:
He had to leave the game and did not return for the Pelicans as they lost in a BLOW OUT against the Chicago Bulls. Obviously this team needs Anthony Davis in order to compete. Now the New Orleans Pelicans have issued an update:
The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that forward Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain. Davis sustained the injury at the 5:28 mark of the second quarter in New Orleans’ game Saturday night against Chicago at the Smoothie King Center.
Davis is questionable for Monday’s home game against Utah and is listed as day-to-day.
Right shoulder sprain and Anthony Davis already had shoulder problems, this does not sound good for the Pelicans. A good sign is that he was only questionable and is day-to-day which means his recovery period should be very short. Hopefully he can be good to go before the All-Star Break.
