Months, if not years, will pass before former President Donald Trump is tried for his alleged attempts to overturn the most recent presidential election. When the time comes for the trial to begin, former Attorney General Anthony Barr strongly advises the former President not to take the stand under any circumstance. In his words, the former reality show host would not fair well under the questioning of prosecutors in a federal court.
“I think it would not come out very well for him,” Barr told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins when asked how Trump would fair under intense questioning from the prosecution.
“Well, because I think he’d be subjected to very skilled cross-examination and I doubt he remembers all the different versions of events he’s given over the last few years.”
In the meantime, Trump will steer his attention to his forthcoming court date. After entering a plea of not guilty earlier today, he is set to return to court on August 28. At this time, there is no word as to when an actual trial would begin.
