Nine games into the regular season Matthew Dellavedova and the Greek Freak have developed quite the match-up nightmare for teams around the league. Their back-court has almost everything a coach could want. They both provide size, they can shoot and are both reliable at making plays down the court. The pair is showing what they can produce, and Giannis has said that Delly is the greatest teammate he’s ever had.

Milwaukee effectively uses the pair for the pick-and-roll as Delly sets the screen it open up opportunities for Milwaukee to express Dellavedova’s three-point shot and teams won’t over commit to Giannis.
Doing so allows the Bucks offense to have Giannis on guards and it’s always a favorable match-up on Antetokounmpo’s part because he is again 6 foot 11. Teams normally get forced out of their normal defensive structure as the match-up occurs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers utilized this by having Delly previous seasons. LeBron James and Matthew Dellavedova used to run the pick-and-roll like we are seeing now. Maybe that is why we Milwaukee wanted to reel Delly to Milwaukee during free-agency.
Giannis said of Delly.
“He’s a willing passer” “So he makes it a lot easier, so I think we can get a lot better. “But I think we have great connection and it’s helping the team.”
Giannis praises Delly’s presence on the court. In the pick-and-roll, and just with the open court the duo has found ways to find each other for good looks, and it may be a habit we see occur throughout the rest of the season.
Of the duo’s assisted field goals Antetokounmpo has made 15 of 36 having come from Delly and vice versa, Giannis has provided the same as he has assisted 7 of Delly’s 12 assisted field goals.
