Mitch Trubisky is expected to be a first-round pick during the 2017 NFL Draft for some quarterback-needy franchise. Trubisky, a one-year starter at North Carolina, has a ton of question marks heading into the Draft process. I have already suggested that Trubisky is a bust waiting to happen but one anonymous scout seems to think Trubisky will become the real deal.
“You’re gonna see the ascension of the Carolina quarterback,” the scout told MMQB. “He’s the guy, a Top 2 or 3 pick. He’s the guy. … A lot of teams like him up there.”
The 2nd pick is currently held by the 49ers while the 3rd pick is held by the Bears. Both teams are expected to land a quarterback this offseason. Both teams are also expected to be in the running for Jimmy Garoppolo which could take one out of the running. Personally, I wouldn’t take any of these quarterbacks in the top 10 of the Draft but the value of the quarterback positions always pushes these guys up the draft board.
“I’ll be shocked if Trubisky’s not the first one off the board (among quarterbacks),” an AFC executive said.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, I will be sure to tell you why Trubisky has virtually no chance of making it in the NFL. I can’t wait!
