Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she will be starring in a new Cleopatra biopic.
Speaking to Edith Bowman on BBC Radio 5 Live, Jolie said of the project:
“We’ve been working on it. There’s been lots of different ideas of directors and lots of different discussions.”
Jolie confirmed that Eric Roth would be penning the script for the film.
She also elaborated on the character saying that she would have to prepare for the role:
“She’s complicated, it’s complicated to get this one right. I think we’re getting there. It’s getting close. I imagine the preparation for it is going to be big.
[I hope] It’s one of those [roles] that you think maybe that’s the one you put everything into and that’s where you end it, that’s where you finish – in a great way! What could you do beyond that one?”
Angelina can currently be seen in Maleficent which is in theaters now.

I LOVE Angelina & Liz Taylor, however it’s not 1963 and it’s not necessary to have White actresses playing Black roles for higher ticket sales
Cleopatra wasn’t black. She was Greek.
