The past couple of days have been a cloudy tribulation for the NCAA and several universities within the landscape of college basketball. None in particular have suffered the likes of the Louisville Cardinals have with this.
With Rick Pitino and other members of the athletic department already being fired and a plentiful amount of hardships likely coming down on the program soon enough, the dominos are beginning to fall for one of college basketball’s storied programs.
Another domino has officially fallen as 5-star recruit Anfernee Simons, Louisville’s best committed recruit of the 2018 high school recruiting class, has announced his de-commitment from the Cardinals and is reopening his recruitment.

Anfernee Simons is a top ten player in the class of 2018 and originally committed to the Cardinals back in November. At 6’4″ and 175 lbs Simons is a Florida native playing at the prestigious IMG Academy. With a hometown advantage, the Florida Gators are expected to be one of the favorites in the running for Anfernee Simons’ talents.
Another program with as good a chance as anybody to lure Simons in is LSU. New Tigers head coach Will Wade has already gotten commitments from five-star recruits Naz Reid and Ja’Vonte Smart for the 2018 class as well as Tremont Waters in the 2017 class.

Along with Anfernee Simons, four star point guard Courtney Ramey has also de-committed from Louisville. Ramey committed to Louisville back in February over the likes of Florida, Creighton, Kansas State and others.
This seems to be only the beginning of a solemn period of time for the Louisville basketball program. As more allegations roll in throughout the coming days, we are looking at a truly dirty and messy situation in the NCAA.
