It is official! The word is breaking out. Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves has won the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe had a little inside knowledge a little bit before the official announcement.

Wiggins has had an amazing Rookie season. 16.9 PPG. 36.2 MPG. His growth this year has been great to see. Starting off with a very Rookie-esque November, averaging 12.3 PPG at .399 FG%. But as his minutes rose. So did his effort and overall output. Averaging around .450 FG%. His best month was poetically April which was his first month averaging over 20 PPG.
But the most interesting statistic to me was how he averaged 30 points whenever he faced Cleveland! If that and a Rookie of the Year award isn’t a big ‘How do you like me now?!’ I don’t know what is. So what is this a start of? A good career? A great career? A Hall Of Fame career? You can speculate if you want but I’m going to enjoy what Andrew Wiggins has in store for his sophomore season.
Congrats Mr Wiggins. Salute.
