Andrew Bynum’s history with knee complaints has forced the new Sixers acquisition to look to alternate methods to keep himself healthy. Bynum will travel to Germany in September to undergo the same procedure that helped rejuvenate Kobe Bryant’s career last season. The procedure is a derivation of platelet-rich plasma therapy and helped Bryant prevent the wearing down of his knee cartlidge.
It is not known if Bynum will have the surgery on both his knees – he’s had surgery performed on both in the past – or if it will be a single knee procedure.
