Recently waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves, veteran point guard Andre Miller is expected to join the San Antonio Spurs, according to The Vertical‘s Shams Charania:
Free-agent guard Andre Miller has reached an agreement to sign with the San Antonio Spurs for the remainder of the season, league sources told The Vertical.
Miller cleared waivers on Saturday after reaching a contract buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Since he was bought out by the March 1st deadline, Miller will be available to play in the postseason.
This season, Miller has averaged 3.4 points and 2.2 assists in 10.8 minutes per game in 26 appearances for the Timberwolves.
In San Antonio, Miller will be one of many veteran players on the roster. He’ll be the 8th player over 30 years of age on the team (Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, David West, Matt Bonner, Boris Diaw, and Rasual Butler).
The Spurs will be the ninth franchise that Miller has played for. The all-time record in most franchises played for is 12, which four players have done(Chucky Brown, Jim Jackson, Tony Massenburg, and Joe Smith).
