Andre Johnson has played his last game as a Houston Texan.
This all came about when the team approached Johnson to take a reduced role. He than furiously requested to be traded or released. The teams all time leading receiver will now be actively looking for a team interested in trading for him. If a trade fails to come about, Johnson will be released.
Andre Johnson is an active member of the Houston community and has already released a statement.
“Thank you Houston for a wonderful 12 years,” Johnson wrote. “And a special thanks to all the fans who have supported me throughout my career.”
His agent , Kennard McGuire, also said:
“It’s been an amazing journey for Andre — and to watch how the city of Houston has embraced him and watch him become the class act that personified true professionalism.”
The former Miami Hurricane still has two years remaining on his contract. Johnson will likely sign a Steve Smith type contract in hopes of landing with a Superbowl contender. Hall of Famer Deon Sanders reached out in regards to Andre Johnson’s Houston tenure.
You don’t allow Andre Johnson the greatest Texan ever to go play for another team when he has only 2 years left on his contract. #Truth

Andre Johnson deserves to play out his 2 years left on his contract and retire with the Texans. They owe him 4 playing with those QBs he had
