UConn Huskies junior guard Andre Jackson suffered a broken pinky finger in practice and is now listed as out indefinitely. He underwent successful surgery on Wednesday and will be re-evaluated in November. Jackson is a key player for the Huskies, a starter, and is expected to have an increased role this season in his junior year. This could set the team back to start the year, but should not impact the team in Big East play. The hope is he does not miss too many games this season because of the injury.

Last season as a sophomore with the UConn Huskies, Andre Jackson averaged 6.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 42.6 percent and a three-point percentage of 36.1 percent. Jackson is also a team captain this season with the Huskies and is expected to be a key member and starter for the program. Junior seasons are often the season where players make a large leap and the hope is that Jackson does that once he is healthy. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Andre Jackson the best in his recovery and return to the basketball court.
