Golden State Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala took some flak (and took home a $10,000 fine) for some very NSFW language following the Warriors’ loss to the Timberwolves on Friday. Iguodala also seemingly referred to Steve Kerr as his “master,” which some interpreted be have been said in a racially-charged manner. When questioned, Kerr laughingly brushed it off, saying that the reporters “got Andre’d.” Iguodala clarified on Monday:

“I have a great relationship with Steve Kerr, and he knows that, and he talked to you guys about it,” Iguodala told reporters. “He and I are in a great place; we don’t even have to speak about it because in no way shape or form was I talking about him.”
Iguodala’s original comments came after a reporter informed him that he, along with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would be resting the following game against the San Antonio Spurs. Iguodala continued:
“It probably was the wrong time to express myself. We all have our own opinions, we all have our own feelings. I feel like we’re entitled to them. We try to pick and choose the time to do it and who to share it with. Because some may not understand where you’re coming from, which is to be expected.”
