The Cleveland Cavaliers have found a balance that makes them unequivocally the best team in the Eastern Conference. With Kyrie Irving coming back, life couldn’t be better for the Cavs.
Anderson Varejao, who is now sitting in the boot of the Cleveland Cavaliers people carrier is fine with being on the bench for most of the game, but does he want to go somewhere else to progress individually? Of course not.
“If I go anywhere else and win a championship, it’s not going to be the same,” he said. “I want to win a championship in Cleveland. That’s where I want to stay. I love Cleveland….
“Of course, it’s not easy,” Varejao said. “It’s a different season for me. I said at the beginning of the season that my goal was to stay healthy and help this team. I’m not getting a lot of playing time, but I know the season is a long season. We still have the playoffs coming and anything can happen. I just have to stay ready and help the team when coach needs me.”
This is smart by Varejao. Why not be a bench warmer with a ring instead of a starter without a ring.
There’s no point going anywhere, besides he’s been in Cleveland for over 10 years. It would be a little tragic if he left now and then the Cavs win a ring. Imagine that.
