Danny Ainge had been surprisingly quiet in free agency thus far. Now, he’s broken that silence by signing former Raptors’ power forward Amir Johnson.
From Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski:

That’s a good move for Boston. I like the deal. The Celtics do have a bit of a surplus in the frontcourt, especially after drafting LSU’s Jordan Mickey. However, Johnson is a good player. Last season, he averaged 9.3 points on an astounding 57.4% from the field, to go with 6.1 rebounds. He even showed a bit of distance on his shot, shooting 41.3% from 3-point range(albeit on only 0.6 attempts per game).
Amir Johnson, at 6’9″ and 240 pounds, is a strong player, and is underrated. He should be able to help the Celtics with their rebounding struggles. Plus, maybe he’ll get a badass Celtics Haircut.
The Celtics are also rumored to be targeting Orlando’s Tobias Harris.
