American Vandal creators Tony Yacenda and Dan Perraul have landed a new series called Players at Paramount+. The mockumentary-style series will follow a fictional League of Legends team trying to win a championship. In order to come out on top, the team must manage the unique relationship between a 17-year-old rookie and a 27-year-old veteran.
Tony Yacenda comes to Paramount+ with a wealth of experience. In the past, he’s helped direct Dave on FX and Chris Brown’s “Freaky Friday” video with Lil’ Dicky. His partner, Dan Perrault, has worked on Honest Trailers, The Screen Junkies Show, Neon Arcade and several other series. Their joint project, American Vandal, earned two seasons at Netflix and a loyal fan base. Along the way, the series picked up Primetime Emmy Award, Peabody Award and Critics’ Choice Television Award nominations.
Paramount+ continues to build a lineup of programming that includes iCarly, No Activity, For Heaven’s Sake and Why Women Kill. At this time, there is no word as to when Players will expand the lineup even further.
