When the moon hits your eye, that’s amore. However, when your extinguisher cage gets broken from rage, well, that’s Amar’e. The All-Star Knicks forward lacerated his left hand following yesterday’s Game 2 loss in Miami when he smashed through the glass of a fire extinguisher at American Airlines Arena.
With the Knicks in an 0-2 hole, Stoudemire is going to miss Thursday’s game at MSG, and is more than likely done for the series. He apologized to the fans on Twitter shortly after the incident.
“I am so mad at myself right now,” Stoudemire wrote. “I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions. headed home for a new start.”
