The Miami Heat are enjoying an excellent offseason and it got even better today. The Heat have agreed to a one year contract with veteran big Amar’e Stoudemire worth up to $1.4 million. The signing was first reported by Tim Reynolds:
After passing a physical and going through an interview earlier today, Amare Stoudemire signed a $1.4 million, one-year deal with the Heat.

Stoudemire played a key role for the Dallas Mavericks as they made the playoffs in the tough Western Conference. Amar’e should play a similar role this coming year for Miami as well. The Heat have enjoyed a fruitful offseason, locking up guards Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade. They also added Justise Winslow via the draft who was a top 5 talent but slipped to Pat Riley at 10. The Heat should not only be contenders for a playoff spot but they should be up there even deeper in the postseason.
