After being released out of his contract with the New York Knicks it looks like Amar’e Stoudemire will not be sticking as a free agent long.
Stoudemire will be making a move to join a potential Western Conference contender in Texas.
He is available to clear waivers 5pm this Wednesday but according to RealGM.com’s Shams Charania, Stoudemire will be joining the Dallas Mavericks and he has committed to doing so.

Stoudemire was talked about joining a multitude of teams including the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and for quite some time, the Dallas Mavericks.
It looks like the Mavericks will be solidifying their need for a reserve big man when bringing in Stoudemire who rejoins his former Knicks teammates in Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton in Big D.
Stoudemire averaged 29 points per game and 8 rebounds per game in the first half of the 2010-11 season with Raymond Felton starting as his point guard with the Knicks.
Dallas is going to be making a power move that now puts teams in the Western Conference on notice to try and make some moves before this Thursday’s trade deadline.
Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers, you’re all officially on notice to make a move now.
