The news gets worse each day for the Knicks on the injury front, now reports indicating that Amar’e Stoudemire could miss the entire month of November as he seeks a second opinion on his injured left knee. The power forward was diagnosed with a ruptured cyst on his knee following the game against the Raptors during the week, and now he’s turning to the Phoenix Suns orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Carter, for advice on how best to treat the injury.
The original time-frame for Stoudemire to return to the Knicks was a fortnight but now there’s fears he may miss up to 4-5 weeks, ruling him out of all of November – a month in which the Knicks play 15-games, including 9 away games.
Mike Woodson has flirted with the idea of starting Carmelo Anthony at the power forward spot, and with injuries to Marcus Camby, Tyson Chandler and Stoudemire, that may be a reality soon enough.
