Allonzo Trier has signed a two-year contract with the New York Knicks. The reported $6.9 million move makes the undrafted guard out of Arizona the second two-way player to sign a guaranteed contract within the first two months of the season. Gary Clark was converted from a two-way deal to a standard NBA contract by the Houston Rockets earlier this season.
The Knicks, who did not officially reveal the contract details, released the following press release and social media post following the news of Trier’s signing:

The news of Trier’s contract signing emerged at the same time as news that the Knicks are waiving third-year guard Ron Baker. The former Witchita State Shocker only appeared in 11 games this season and averaged just 1.3 points and 1.2 assists per game. The Knicks tweeted out a press release regarding Baker’s waiving, to which Baker replied with his gratitude toward the Knicks organization.

NYK was truly great to me. My family, friends and I can’t thank you enough! 8 year old RDB at the Utica KS park appreciated it! https://t.co/CQmR2Mn3BK

Trier has emerged as a pleasant surprise for the Knicks since signing a two-way contract following the 2018 Draft. Through 27 games, Trier is averaging 11.3 points per game on 47% field goal shooting and 39.1% field goal shooting from three.
The signing of Trier and waiving of Baker are the latest moves for the Knicks, who made another heavily publicized move earlier in the season when they waived Joakim Noah, resulting in the veteran center signing with the Memphis Grizzlies.
