Portland Trail Blazers’ guard Allen Crabbe landed badly on his ankle during Wednesday night’s Summer League Game vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves. Crabbe was yelling in pain, and had to be taken off on a stretcher. Crabbe’s initial X-rays came back negative, so it was clear that he had not broken anything. Crabbe had an MRI on Thursday, and the MRI confirmed that the injury was a severe left ankle sprain, as announced by the Portland Trail Blazers on Twitter.

Allen Crabbe was initially drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first pick of the second round, but immediately traded to the Trail Blazers. Crabbe has played 66 games for Portland in his 2-year career, and averaged 11.9 minutes per game.
Crabbe hasn’t had much of an impact for the Blazers yet, but that makes sense given the amount of minutes he has played. Crabbe should be able to have a solid future in the NBA, though. He has good size for a shooting guard(6’6″) but needs to put on some weight. He has also demonstrated some good 3-point shooting skill.
