All American is set to return for its third season on January 18. The season will focus on Spencer James and Billy Baker’s decision to return to South Crenshaw High School. Meanwhile, life will continue at Beverly Hills High School with Baker’s kids, Layla Keating, Asher Adams and the entire team.
Much of the show’s third season has been affected by the pandemic. The show began filming in September and was only forced to pause in October due to a positive test. However, many of the show’s common activities like parties, football games, etc. had to be reimagined due to the pandemic.

“The biggest thing is we are a young adult show that loves to throw parties — homecoming, everybody’s birthday — and now it’s just like, ‘Uh uh, what three people are getting together to have coffee and a chat?’” showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll said.
“There’s going to be a lot of halftime, on their way to the bathroom conversations this season so we can put them on our stages instead,” Okoro Carroll added.
The show will also include a bit of previously shot footage to simulate crowd participation. Unfortunately, large town gatherings like the one that ended season two will be a thing of the past. Either way, it’s great to have All American back for a decisive third season.
