When he’s not starring in a hit television series or running lines for a new movie, Algee Smith is in the studio recording soulful R&B music. Six years removed from his last project, ATL, Algee Smith has announced that his new EP, Love Lost, will be released on Tuesday, July 15th.
“The things I never got over. The words I never said. The nights that still replay. Love Lost tells it all,” Smith wrote on Instagram.
While this is the first new project from Algee Smith in more than five years, that doesn’t mean he’s been missing. As mentioned previously, he’s developed a successful acting career, appearing in series like Euphoria and movies like Judas and the Black Messiah. However, more recently, he’s shifted his attention to music, releasing three singles this year and appearing at the 2025 BET Awards.
The seven-track EP from Smith is described as a “raw, honest exploration of love’s complexities, blending vulnerability with strength.” Going at it solo for 20 minutes, he’ll deliver a few new tracks along with previously released singles “Magic City,” “Honest,” and “Sinners.”
