This is Ajinca’s left patellar tendon. In December, he underwent surgery on his right patellar tendon. So, yeah. Not great.
Ajinca hasn’t played a game in 2017-18, and that clearly won’t change with this surgery set to keep him out well past this season’s end.
Ajinca, 7-foot-2, would help the Pelicans’ plight in wake of star center DeMarcus Cousins’ season-ending achilles tear.
Ajinca, who will turn 30 in May, has been in the NBA since 2008. He’s been with the Pelicans since 2013. For his career, he’s averaged 5.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game.
