Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used her holiday break to raise a few dollars for those in need. During a five hour live stream of Among Us, the New York native was able to raise $200,000 for COVID-19 relief.
“We did it,” she tweeted.
“[We] $200,000 raised in one live stream for eviction defense, food pantries and more. This is going to make such a difference for those who need it most right now. Thank you all.”

Ocasio-Cortez is no stranger to the online game, Among Us. Late last month, the congresswoman used the online game to raise awareness leading into election day.
However, the New York politician is not the only lawmaker to use Twitch for her benefit. Recently, Sen. Bernie Sanders has hopped on the gaming platform and created a channel. Who would you like to see get on Twitch in the new year?
