If you haven’t followed Eric Bellinger’s solo work, there is a good chance you’ve followed his work for other superstars. Over the years, the California native has written for the likes of Chris Brown, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Tank and many others. On Eazy Call, Bellinger saves his talents for himself. The fifteen track project features the likes of Dom Kennedy, AD, Ma$e, Wale, Ne-Yo, Sammie, Chevy Woods, Mila J and Tink.
On the eve of the album’s release, Bellinger took to Instagram to let fans know how he felt about the album’s release. Bellinger wrote, “A lot of people have been asking what my new project EAZY CALL is all about. Quite simply, I’d call this… “THE GREATEST HITS” album of songs that have yet to be released. I got songs on here to dance to, smoke to, sing to, make love to, and songs that I believe are pushing R&B forward. I’ve literally been working on some of these records for YEARS and I hope y’all can appreciate each and every record for what it is.”
One song that didn’t make the cut for his newest album is “Yikes”. The Californian used “Yikes” to let Tory Lanez and everybody else know that he believes Tory has bitten his style and he is not happy about it. On the diss track, Bellinger sings, “We live in a day and age where they don’t know what talent is/Yo’ only talent is mimicking anyone that’s talented/Released a couple singles to your fans, you was red hot/Surely had a change of heart the day after your album dropped/Stole a vibe from Trey Songz, took a flow from K-Dot/Kinda sound like Fetty Wap/Dammit, Tory, when will it stop?” Tory has yet to respond, but given his outspoken history, it’s unlikely that he’ll remain silent on the matter for much longer.
In the meantime, fans can check out Eazy Call and compare. Who has the better album?
