When you come across something great in its early stages, if you’re anything like myself, you want to help support it in any way you can. Whether its through words of encouragement and appreciation, or through platforms such as this, the simple acknowledgment of a creative piece that an artist has constructed goes a long way. In the world of music there’s always something new coming about each and every second. Because of this, we often find ourselves not fully digesting the art that has been presented in music form. Over the past year, as I’ve adapted new ways to love music even more, I was introduced to the art of a local rapper by the name of 7uca.
Back in August, we introduced you to 7uca as he unleashed his first offering from his brand new album, Pink City, Motel. 4x served as the perfect introduction as it displayed not only a passion for the realm of Hip-Hop, but also a versatility in style that’s so import for the music industry today. Following up and closing out Summer, 7uca took us all to the beach with his smooth BraveStarr produced second single, …beaches. The gem, and personal favorite, conveys a personal idea of being sent through a time warp as its production fuses various elements with the content that could easily send you and that special person into a deep zone. Lastly, the Baltimore rapper gave his creativity time to shine in a visual for ‘Still Violent.’ Not appearing on the album, the trippy visual experience delivered just what fans have grown to love and apprpeciate from 7uca. Now, on October 23rd, we see the debut of 7uca’s new creative masterpiece, Pink City, Motel.
Pink City, Motel, as a whole, embodies and plays home to a swimming pool of emotions and feelings on the 16 track LP. With moments that are true to the hard-hitting traits of Hip-Hop, and other moments that provoke thought, the album easily has something for all types of listeners. An immediate standout factor of the album is the variation of sounds and vibes it gives off through each record. Personally, with nothing worse being than an album that isn’t cohesive, the confirmation that the album would proceed in a smooth fashion was heard only a few tracks in. What’s noticed and appreciated the most about Pink City, Motel is the effort and creativity that’s not always heard in today’s music climate. For that, I commend 7uca. Worthy of recognition, also, is majority of the LP’s producer, JonyB. Whatever ideas and sounds that manifested in his head during the creative process for the album is worthy of a hand shake and conversation.
Pink City, Motel was not only needed for music and all aspiring music creatives of Baltimore, it serves as inspiration that our best potential can be unlocked with hard work and dedication. Coming across 7uca by a simple introduction, I’m grateful for the final product he has delivered to us all today. Listen and support the movement of 7uca’s Pink City, Motel, below.
