Bengals star wide receiver A.J Green and Jaguars corner Jalen Ramsey were ejected late in the second quarter for fighting. The fight occurred after a 1-yard run play by Joe Mixon. Both players are key pieces for their respective units as Green is the Bengals leading receiver this season and Ramsey has 2 picks for the Jaguars, who rank first against the pass.
Green went off on the cornerback after being shoved to the ground after the play. Green grabbed Ramsey by the back of his neck and threw him to the ground then proceeded to throw punches to Ramsey’s helmet. Referees and players from both teams would run over to break up the fight.
Luckily for Green he didn’t not injure his hand while hitting Ramsey’s helmet.
The fight was similar to the 2010 fight between former receiver Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan. Neither were suspended but both were fined $25,000 for their unsportsmanlike actions.
The teams are probably crossing their fingers that neither player receives any disciplinary action greater than a fine.
Green left the game with only 1 catch for 6 yards and Ramsey only made one tackle in the contest.
