The Minnesota Timberwolves announced on Tuesday that forward Adreian Payne will be out indefinitely with a low platelet count condition known as thrombocytopenia.
Timberwolves say Adreian Payne is out indefinitely with low platelet count. Prognosis good for full recovery, but he's home resting

Payne has struggled to make his mark in the NBA since being drafted out of Michigan State in 2014. This season, Payne had only appeared in 12 games, averaging 4.0 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
The good news is that Payne is apparently looking good to recover. From the Wolves’ press release:
Payne, who is receiving care under the guidance of Wolves team physicians, is currently resting comfortably at home. Payne’s prognosis for recovery is good and he will return to the court when it is deemed safe for him to do so.
This is obviously a serious concern even if the prognosis is good. Having seen Chris Bosh’s situation since first developing blood clots, it’s safe to say that the Wolves should take utmost care with Adreian Payne to ensure he is safe to resume his basketball career.
As usual, our collective thoughts are with Payne as he recovers and we hope to see him on a basketball court soon.
