With the force that Adele’s 21 album effort continues to move forward, it is evident that there is just no other pop female in her line. ’21’ is sitting comfortably at #1 (again) this week with sales expected to be around 111k. This marks the omnipotent-album’s 18th week at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. If Adele can hold the fort down for three more weeks she will have the honor of the longest running album at #1 since Whitney Houston’s The Bodyguard effort which spent 20 weeks at #1 in 1993. With 21 weeks at #1 Adele will tie with MC Hammer’s Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em album effort.
You do know that Adele is on vocal rest right ? And that her album is selling without any strenuous promotional campaign? Can you imagine the chart dominance that will take place after her Grammy performance (Feb 12th)? She is eating these Pop-tarts alive I tell you.
