Oh Adam, don’t get me started now. You know that when it comes to the NFL and the NBA. The no.1 goal in terms of globalisation is to have a team in Europe.
The NFL have said that it might happen in the next 10 years or so. The NBA however haven’t talked it much, which is interesting considering that basketball is the second most popular sport in the world. And while I have you, why is it that the NFL is having several games in London and the NBA are only sticking with one? And the NBA have more games! I sort of understand why NFL purists hate teams travelling to London because they can’t afford to lose a game AND travel to London and back. NBA teams have 82 games for crying out loud.
Anyways, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has had the two words “European” and “expansion” mentioned to him and he quickly went “Hold up” on the subject.
Commissioner Adam Silver says it is “premature” to talk about an NBA expansion in Europe.
Silver says he doesn’t think “it’s going to happen in the very near future” but “could happen one day.”
I’m not going to hold my breath over this. I’m good with just one for now. Sure I wouldn’t mind a few more games, I mean if the NFL can hook us up with multiple games, surely the NBA can give me a few more no?
I’m not asking for a team here! Just a couple more games.
