Yesterday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the Board of Governors held meetings to discuss various topics and issues throughout the NBA. Subsequently, Silver touched base on the meeting in an interview he gave today and highlighted one specific topic of the meeting.
To elaborate, the topic in which Silver specified about is the dilemma of resting players, that has become a widely talked about issue for a good part of the season. Although players have seamlessly taken nights off in the past, this season has been full of big names taking nights off during primetime games. There has not only been backlash from fans, but some players have chosen to chime in as well.
Silver made it clear that the Board of Governors meeting was both productive and thoughtful when discussing topics including players rest. Silver also seemed optimistic that this issue should reduce thanks in large part to an extended season next year to reduce four games in five nights and back to backs.
