Aaron White may not be a member of the Washington Wizards this upcoming season, but both parties still see the relationship working out in the end. Washington drafted the forward from Iowa with the 49th pick in this year’s NBA Draft and have always expected the big man to spend his first season overseas.
After a few rough performances in Summer League, it seems White was unable to earn himself an unexpected invite to training camp. As long as there is a plan in place for the future, the second round draft should not have anything to worry about.
Following From Washington Post.
“The positive thing is both Wizards and myself, we see each other as eventual partners. I’m going to be a part of this team in the future. It just might be next year instead of this year. And I understand that. That’s one of the big things. I want to get in a situation where I can play and I can develop and I can get stronger so when I come back to minicamp, to summer league, to training camp next year, I’m ready to contribute.”
For somebody in a situation like this, it is very important for the player and team to have communication about the situation while being on the same page. It appears that way between Washington and White, so there shouldn’t be any bad blood in DC.
