Summer League may have not been as successful as expected for Aaron White, but he has to remember he is a second round pick projected to play overseas playing against current and former NBA players. As a Summer League veteran next season, he will be asked to do more, which will create more opportunities to impress scouts in attendance.
A lot of games may have not gone his way, especially after he was benched, but it’s good for the rookie to understand he still has potential. Once White can alter his game, similar to how Drew Gooden did this past season, he will find on some team in the NBA.

“Being too hard on myself,” White said after the Wizards’ 97-81 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday. “That’s the biggest thing for me. I’ve got to stay upbeat, stay positive, understand that there’s guys out here that have played significant minutes in the NBA that have off games. So I can’t be too hard on myself if I have a bad quarter or a bad couple possessions. I got to fight through it and continue to do what I do.”
As White works on refining his game and turning into a more productive player, he will be able to do a lot more on the court next summer. With the work he is going to put in, he could be one of the top players to watch once this regular season comes to an end.
