Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the team’s Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rodgers is unvaccinated according to multiple sources but has been following NFL protocol for players that are not vaccinated against COVID-19. Green Bay will turn to backup quarterback Jordan Love this week against the Chiefs with their future Hall of Fame quarterback out for the week.

My understanding is that Aaron Rodgers has been following protocols for unvaccinated players while inside the building. https://t.co/g5xyjDZ6uL

The Packers, who currently sit at 7-1 in the rankings, are coming off an electric Thursday Night Football win against the Arizona Cardinals. Aaron Rodgers despite lacking several key starters beat the undefeated Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. Jordan Love is viewed as the future of the team beyond Rodgers, so now the Packers will see what he has against the Chiefs.
#Packers QB Jordan Love, who the team drafted in the first round, will start against the #Chiefs. Rodgers out with COVID.

Despite Rodgers being unvaccinated he should be good to go in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks assuming he tests negative for COVID-19 multiple times before then. The NFC playoff race is tight at the top and one game could mean the difference on missing the one bye that the top NFC team will get. Green Bay is clearly better when they have Aaron Rodgers on the field as their starting quarterback. We here at Def Pen Sports hope Rodgers recovers and can get back out on the field next week.
