Aaron Brooks will be back for the Chicago Bulls this upcoming season. After an impressive season as their back-up to Derrick Rose (sometimes starter), Brooks played his part, creating shots for himself and facilitating off the bench.
According to K.C Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
Receiving a verbal commitment from their third incumbent, the Bulls will bring back guard Aaron Brooks on a one-year deal, a league source confirmed. ESPN.com first reported the agreement, which can be finalized when the league lifts its moratorium on Thursday.
Brooks, 30, averaged 11.6 points while playing in all 82 games for the Bulls last season. The 6-foot guard struggled in the playoffs, shooting 34.4 percent and 30 percent from 3-point range.
With Brooks, Dunleavy and Butler, returning to the Bulls, they are poised to make another run at the Cavaliers Eastern Conference title. Everyone knows if there is anyone who can beat LeBron James and the Cavaliers is the defensive minded Bulls. With new Head Coach Fred Hoiberg, the defense part is iffy, but the Bulls are one of the most talented teams in the NBA, roster wise. Now they need to put it together and for the love of god… KEEP DERRICK ROSE HEALTHY. That’s all they really need to do.
