A$AP Rocky is back! Ahead of his Amazon Music Live performance on Thursday night, the Harlem native shared a bit of good news with his fans.
“Thursday night football! Amazon! [It’s my] first time back on stage. [The] album [is] finished. Don’t Be Dumb. Let’s go,” he said during a short commercial break.
A$AP Rocky has been preparing for the moment for some time now. Earlier this year, he shared the “D.M.B” video starring Rihanna. This month, he returned with the trippy “Sh*ttin’ Me” video. Then, he premiered a new track called “Same Problems” on Prime Video. He also offered some insight into the recording of his album while speaking with GQ.
“I’m gonna put it to you like this: This next album needs to be just called Flacko Boomin,” he told the outlet.
As he puts it, his next album is heavily influenced by the production of Metro Boomin’. On the album’s penultimate track, the Harlem native appeared alongside the late, great Takeoff. According to the chart-topping artist, he spent nearly ten hours in the studio with the super producer and plans to release more of their work in the future.
Me and Take were there, on different occasions, for [up to] 10 hours. It was crazy. He takes his time with his flows. And when it’s done, and he put that patent on it, it’s over,” A$AP Rocky said.
The Harlem native hasn’t provided a release date, but live performances, new music videos and more point to a new project in the near future. Until then, check out his performance of “Same Problems” below.
