If the offseason buzz around LeBron James losing weight wasn’t enough, here is some more. LeBron James sat down with Rachel Nichols of CNN to discuss his recent diet which got him to 250 pounds.
The newly minted (or returning) Cleveland Cavalier isn’t shy about his weight loss either claiming:
“That’s not such a good thing for the competition”
Over the summer, James has posted numerous pictures pointing out the weight loss, including the one that started it all.
Although multiple sources claim that when James was with Miami he would clock in at 250, but James says,” I feel good”. Well that should make Cavaliers fans happy right? LeBron James feeling good about losing weight and ready to take the Cavaliers to a place only the King himself could. How did he do it? What was his secret?
From the interview, the diet seems well… excruciating:
The Diet Was Very Strict Right?
Very strict. 67 days.
And what did you eat or not eat?
I’ll tell you what I couldn’t have. No carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no refined sugar. No nothing. Meat, fish, veggies, fruit.
What was the hardest thing to give up?
It was either pancakes or chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.
67 Days?! NO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES FOR THE KING?! Seems ridiculous by my standards, but James backs it up. He’s not the only one either, New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony also shed some pounds in order to get Knicks fans excited. So whats with all the diets? Diet is a brutal but crucial part of being in the athletic shape like a LeBron James.
To watch the full CNN interview, it will be aired on friday. For now, here is a 4 minute clip of what transpired:
Now that LeBron James is back in shape and scaring the competition with his weight loss, Cleveland has EVEN MORE to be happy about. A happy Lebron is a happy Cleveland. James and the Cavaliers are looking to dominate the East, and with a rejuvenated James, it seems likely.
