Big NBA Wednesday
What a big night in the NBA! There were 13 games on the docket, 26 teams in total played and there was more than enough fireworks to share with everyone. Here’s the recap of all the games!
New Orleans Pelicans at Charlotte Hornets. Hornets hold off Pelicans 98-94.

A pair of young talents went off tonight as both Kemba Walker and Anthony Davis exploded for over 30 points. Kemba stole the show though with a game winner late to rally the Hornets over the Pelicans.
Kemba Walker scored 31, which is his third consecutive game scoring 30, to lead the Hornets and his back court partner, Gerald Henderson, scored 16 points on the night with 6 assists and 7 rebounds. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 13 points along with 12 rebounds for Charlotte and Brian Roberts came off the bench to score 10 for the Hornets.
Anthony Davis had a 32 point, 12 rebound night to lead the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday helped Davis as much as he could scored 16 points, handing out 9 assists and grabbing 6 rebounds. Eric Gordon scored 14 points o nthe night and Tyreke Evans dropped 10 points.
New Orleans Pelicans are 17-18. Charlotte Hornets are 13-24.
Houston Rockets at Cleveland Cavaliers. Rockets defeat Cavs 105-93.

The Cleveland Cavaliers roster is in a little remodel right now as their star, LeBron James is still hurt and there are 3 new members of the Cavs that are new to the team with the newest being Timofey Mozgov, acquired in a trade earlier in the day.
James Harden led the Houston Rockets in scoring once again as he dropped 21 points, handed out 9 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds. Dwight Howard had 17 points on the night and grabbed 19 rebounds, Trevor Ariza scored 13 points for Houston with 6 rebounds and 5 steals to help lead the Rockets over the reeling Cavaliers. Donatas Motiejunas scored 10 points but it was the Rockets bench highlighted by 16 points from Josh Smith and 12 points from Corey Brewer that helped the Rockets achieve victory over the Cavaliers.
One of the newest member of the Cavs, J.R. Smith, didn’t score a point in 18 minutes of action, going 0-5 from the field. Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 38 points on the night, Kevin Love dropped 17 while grabbing 16 rebounds and Tristan Thompson scored 11 points, grabbing 6 rebounds himself.
Houston Rockets are 24-11. Cleveland Cavaliers are 19-17.
Milwaukee Bucks at Philadelphia 76ers. Bucks beat Sixers 97-77.

The Bucks came into Philadelphia to try and recover after a tough loss to the Phoenix Suns a night earlier. Khris Middleton led the way for the Bucks, scoring 18 points and getting 5 steals. Brandon Knight also scored 18 on the night, Zaza Pachulia scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Bucks win. O.J. Mayo scored 15 points and handed out 6 assists while Jerryd Bayless scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds as both players came off the bench for the Bucks.
K.J. McDaniels led the Sixers in scoring, dropping 14 points and grabbing 6 rebounds on the night with Nerlens Noel helping him out scoring 13 points. Tony Wroten, who has been the topic of some trade discussions recently, scored 12 points and JaKarr Sampson scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and handed out 5 assists. Sixers star, Michael Carter-Williams struggled only scoring 5 points on 1-13 shooting.
Milwaukee Bucks are 19-18. Philadelphia 76ers are 5-29.
New York Knicks at Washington Wizards. Wizards beat Knicks 101-91.

The Knicks are just the Knicks. The Wizards beat the Knicks to increase New York’s losing streak to a franchise high 13 games.
Nene led the way in scoring for the Wizards when he dropped 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. John Wall scored 18 points, handed out 8 assists and Marcin Gortat along with Bradley Beal scored 12 points each with Gortat grabbing 11 rebounds. Rasual Butler came off the bench to score 14 points.
The Knicks are trying to figure out who they are. They have no clue and i don’t either. Jose Calderon led the Knicks with 17 points on the night and Cole Aldrich scored 11 points while grabbing 7 rebounds. Jason Smith scored 13 points, Travis Wear dropped 11 points and Shane Larkin contributed 10 points as all 3 players came off the bench for the lost Knicks.
New York Knicks are 5-33. Washington Wizards are 24-11.
Memphis Grizzlies at Atlanta Hawks. Hawks beat Grizzlies 96-86.

The game of the night, besides the fact that it was ‘Swipe Right’ night in Atlanta (a ‘Tinder’ dating meetup night), featured 2 of the top teams in the NBA in the Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks facing off.
Atlanta came away with a win at home behind Jeff Teague’s 25 points and 6 assists. Al Horford dropped 12 points, Kyle Korver contributed 14 pints and Paul Millsap scored 11 points with 9 rebounds. Pero Antic came off the bench to score 13 points.
Mike Conley scored 17 points with 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the Grizzlies and Marc Gasol was the only other Grizzlies starter to score in double figures with his 16 points on the night to go along with his 7 rebounds. Tayshaun Prince came off the bench to score 12. The Grizzlies were once again with out Zach Randolph.
The Hawks have won 20 of their last 22 games.
Memphis Grizzlies are 25-10. Atlanta Hawks are 27-8.
Boston Celtics at Brooklyn Nets. Celtics beat Nets 89-81.

Avery Bradley led the Celtics in scoring when he dropped 21 for Boston to help them achieve a win in Brooklyn. Tyler Zeller scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds but it was the other 7 players who scored over 5 points that evened out the scoring for Boston. 9 players in total for Boston scored at least 5 points.
Joe Johnson led the Nets in scoring with 17 points on the night, Mason Plumlee had 16 points with 12 rebounds, Jarrett Jack scored 15 points and Kevin Garnett scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds on the night. Deron Williams only played 4 minutes and didn’t scored a single point before leaving the game due to an injury.
Boston Celtics are 12-21. Brooklyn Nets are 16-19.
Utah Jazz at Chicago Bulls. Jazz beat Bulls 97-77.

In the surprise of the night, the Utah Jazz came into the Windy City and upset the Chicago Bulls and in dominating fashion, holding the Bulls to a season-low 33% shooting from the field.
Derrick Favors exploded for a big 20 point and 11 rebound night while Gordon Hayward helped him in the scoring department dropping 18 points. Trey Burke scored 17 points, Rudy Gobert dropped 11 points with 14 rebounds and Trevor Booker came off the bench for 15 points and 8 rebounds.
The Bulls struggles start at the top with Derrick Rose who had only 7 points on 3-15 shooting, his seventh straight game scoring under 20 points. Pau Gasol dropped 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while Jimmy Butler led the Bulls in scoring with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Taj Gibson came off the bench for 15 points with 6 rebounds and Aaron Brooks helped him off the bench scoring 12 points.
Utah Jazz are 13-23. Chicago Bulls are 25-11.
Detroit Pistons at Dallas Mavericks. Pistons beat Mavs 108-95.

Unleash the Detroit Pistons! Watch out Atlanta. Ahead of the Pistons matchup with the Atlanta Hawks, the Pistons had to take on the Mavericks in Dallas and they looked to end the Mavs 6 game winning streak while extending their own 6 game winning streak.
The Pistons came out on top to make their streak 7 games won in a row. Greg Monroe dropped 27 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and Andre Drummond grabbed 19 rebounds of his own, but only scored 6 points. Brandon Jennings scored 14 points, but it was the pair of reserve bench guards in D.J. Augustin who scored 26 points and Jodie Meeks who scored 11 that made the difference for the Pistons.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavs in scoring with 19 points, Monta Ellis scored 6 points and Chandler Parsons dropped 15 points for the Mavs. Tyson Chandler scored 9 points but grabbed 15 rebounds and Devin Harris came off the bench to score 14 points.
Detroit Pistons are 12-23. Dallas Mavericks are 26-11.
Orlando Magic at Denver Nuggets. Nuggets beat Magic 93-90.

The Denver Nuggets were led by their point guard Ty Lawson who scored 23 points on the night, Arron Afflalo scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and Wilson Chandler scored 12 points. Nate Robinson scored 13 points, handed out 7 assists and J.J. Hickson scoring 11 points as both players came off the bench.
Nikola Vucevic scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Magic. Victor Oladipo dropped 17 points on the night with 6 assists and Tobias Harris scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Evan Fournier scored 14 points and Andrew Nicholson scored 11 points as both players scored in double digits coming off the bench for the Magic.
Orlando Magic are 13-25. Denver Nuggets are 16-20.
Phoenix Suns at Minnesota Timberwolves. Phoenix Suns defeat Timberwolves 113-111.

The Suns 3 point guard monster led the way for Phoenix. Goran Dragic scored 25 points, Eric Bledsoe dropped 17 points while grabbing 7 rebounds and Isaiah Thomas came off the bench to score 17 points of his own with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Markieff Morris scored 14 points and Gerald Green came off the bench to score 21 points.
The rookie sensation, number 1 overall pick, Andrew Wiggins, continue to score over 20 points as he dropped 25 on the night, his fifth straight game scoring 20 or more. Mo Williams scored 23 points on the night with 11 assists, Thaddeus Young scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds with Shabazz Muhammad scoring 12 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 5 assists. Anthony Bennett scored 14 points with 10 rebounds and Chase Budinger scored 10 points as both players came off the bench.
Phoenix Suns are 22-16. Minnesota Timberwolves are 5-29.
Oklahoma City Thunder at Sacramento Kings. Kings beat Thunder 104-93.

Kings held strong at home with 3 players scored 20 or more points. Rudy Gay led the way with 28 points and 9 rebounds, Darren Collison dropped 24 points with 7 assists and DeMarcus Cousins scored 23 points with 15 rebounds. Carl Landry came off the bench to score 10 points and Ben McLemore scored 11 points.
The Thunder struggles to score again despite the debut of Dion Waiters. Kevin Durant scored 24 points while grabbing 9 rebounds. Serge Ibaka scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds but Russell Westbrook scored only 10 points and struggles from the field, only shooting 3-19. Reggie Jackson came off the bench to score 14 and in 22 minutes Dion Waiters only scored 4 points on 1-9 shooting in his Thunder debut.
Oklahoma City Thunder are 17-19. Sacramento Kings are 15-20.
Indiana Pacers at Golden State Warriors. Warriors defeat Pacers 117-102.

Golden State Warriors had a dominating performance from the Splash Bros. as they combined to drop 61 points on the night. Stephen Curry scored 21 points and handed out 15 assists but it was Klay Thompson who stole the show for the night in the league scoring 40 points on 14-25 shooting from the field, including 6-11 from 3 point range. Marreese Speights scored 18 points starting at center and David Lee came off the bench to score 13 points. Andrew Bogut returned for the first time after missing 12 games and scored 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 15 minutes of action.
Solomon Hill led the Pacers with 21 points, David West had 16 points with 7 rebounds, 6 assists and C.J. Miles scored 13 points. Donald Sloan came off the bench for 14 points, Luis Scola and Lavoy Allen joined Sloan off the bench with Scola scoring 14 points and Allen scoring 12 with 9 rebounds.
Indiana Pacers are 14-23. Golden State Warriors are 28-5.
Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers. Clippers beat Lakers 114-89.

The Clippers just straight up dominated the Lakers in the battle for Los Angeles. It was 70-48 at halftime, nothing more needs to be said.
All 5 starters for the Clippers scored in double figures. Blake Griffin had 27 points, 9 reboudns, 8 assists with Chris Paul scoring 24 points and handing out 11 assists. J.J. Redick scored 10 points and DeAndre Jordan matched his total with 10 points but grabbed 13 rebounds. Matt Barnes had a big night scoring 19 points for the ‘Clipshow.’
Just about every member of the Lakers struggled against the Clippers. Wayne Ellington scored 13 points, Jordan Hill scored 13 as well and Jeremy Lin scored 12. Nick Young came off the bench to score 11 points on 4-15 shooting, Carlos Boozer scored 10 points and Jordan Clarkson scored 14 points. Kobe Bryant struggled all night only scoring 4 points on 2-12 shooting.
Los Angeles Lakers are 11-25. Los Angels Clippers are 24-12.
