There are some songs that you can enjoy by way of your headphones. However, there are some songs that you need to experience rather than here. A.CHAL’s “Selena” falls into the latter category. To bring this record to life, A.CHAL recently teamed up with visual creatives Jayoh and Matt Zolly to deliver an interactive performance of “Selena” to fans around the world. Shot on location at Chadano Hills 5 Acre Open Studio in California, the three-minute performance clip showcases the New York native’s vocals as he bounces around the dimly lit venue.
“Maria, Mariana/I’ll make you sing like Sel?na/Take that down in Tijuana/Get on top, ponte ?ncima/Maria, Mariana/I made her sing like Selena,” he sings.
A.CHAL’s “Selena” performance comes just a few weeks after he delivered his third studio LP, Far From Gaz. Capping off the “Gaz” series, his latest project offers an insight to who he is not only as an artist, but as a person. From emotional, guitar-heavy soundscapes to vulnerable verses, this stands out as possibly his most revealing body of work yet.
“The reasons I made music changed. I felt like I was chasing something, like I was making music to feed my ego. I had lost control. I was frustrated and the fans kept asking where the music was,” A.CHAL said in a press release about his latest project.
