A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s debut The Bigger Artist has landed at number one on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
The album is Boogie’s first number one charting project. It also charted number four overall on the Billboard 200. To have the reach and impact on the music industry as a whole…that’s huge.
According to Billboard, Boogie totaled approximately 81.2 million on-demand streams of the songs on this album. That made up about 54,000 out of the 67,000 units that were counted towards sales. Due to those streaming numbers, five songs from The Bigger Artist have earned spots on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Song chart: ‘No Promises (No. 32), ‘Say A’ (No. 33), ‘Undefeated’ (No. 37), ‘Beast Mode’ (No. 38) and ‘No Comparison’ (No. 46).
Last week, A Boogie was also atop the Emerging Artists chart. This chart measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. Conversely, this chart excludes artists who have gained a top 25 spot on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200. Needless to say, this has been a good year for NY native.
Congrats to the young man and the success of his debut album. I hope to hear more from him and High Bridge The Label crew.
