There’s something refreshing in the air. No, I’m not referencing anything you or I can smell. I’m referencing some aspect of inspiration that has seemed to rock 2015 and has enabled music creatives to craft great records and bodies of work. More than halfway through the year, whether backed by a massive label or fueled independently, many have achieved that goal and so much more. Next up on that list is Baltimore’s own, 7uca.
Stepping onto the scene earlier this year with his My Most Violent Year EP, there was a promise heard throughout the tone of the EP that 7uca wasn’t your average Joe tackling the the world of Hip-Hop for the sake of riches and increased popularity. There was a hunger and determination that drew listeners in and sparked the interest and demand for more. Advancing 6 months later and shifting his focus onto a larger body of work, the rapper is back with his brand new single, ‘4x’, which will be featured on his upcoming Pink City Motel album.
Voicing lyrics that we all have related to at some point. 7uca has himself a winner. Matched with production by JonyB and Sam Gellaitry, who collectively concocted what sounds like three perfectly blended songs in one, the replay value and infectious nature for ‘4x’ is there. Pronounced as “look-kah”, and not “looker” for the fancy folks, there’s a promising future ahead for Baltimore’s 7uca. Get on the wave early and vibe out to ‘4x’, below.
