If you’re a young player, you’re getting excited because you’re going to get some playing time. The Miami Heat may have been over looking the desperate and defeated Philadelphia 76ers and thinking about the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James coming in for a huge Christmas Day game.
That may have been what helped the Sixers pull out a fantastic victory on the road against the defending Eastern Conference champions, the Miami Heat, 91-87.
Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 points with 6 steals and 5 assists on the night, Luc Mbah a Moute added 19 with 6 rebounds. Robert Covington scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds on the night for the Sixers. K.J. McDaniels scored 13 points off the bench, including a huge dunk or 2 with Jerami Grant coming off the bench to score 11 points and grab 7 rebounds.
Dwyane Wade scored 17 of his 23 points in the first half for Miami with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Shawne Williams scored 17 while grabbing 5 rebounds and Mario Chalmers added 11 for the Heat and grabbed 5 rebounds as well.
Sixers outscored the Heat 19-8 in the final quarter.
Philadelphia 76ers are 4-23. Miami Heat 13-16.
