The Philadelphia 76ers have been unwatchable for years now, and whenever they get somebody remotely watchable, they trade him. Nerlens and Jahlil. Watch yourselves.
Now Julius Erving has been part of the Sixers organisation in some form for as long as we can remember, he’s always their representative when the Draft Lottery comes around although I don’t think he likes making a habit of being there.
But when the Sixers owner Josh Harris made the worst decision in Philadelphia’s history and hired Sam Hinkie to be GM. Erving was told that they had a ‘7-year plan’.
When they acquired the team in 2012 maybe, I think the talk was about seven years. Seven years. So, I think it’s still on that same timeline.
Seven years to make the playoffs?
Erving: No. To be good. To be good. To be formidable. To be a contender. That’s probably 18-19.
I’m sorry but seven years?! They want Sixers fans to wait 7 years for them to be contenders? And look at what Erving said, he just said it’ll take 7 years to contend, not make the Playoffs, but to contend.
That’s unbearable to even think of waiting that long. If they didn’t make those stupid trades last year. I guarantee you they would be Playoff caliber in 2 years, cutting that 7 year plan down to 5.
