After spending nearly every draft pick possible on big men, the 76ers have found themselves in need of a point guard. According to Sixers’ reporter Michael Kaskey-Blomain, that point guard may be Kendall Marshall.
Marshall, who tore his ACL last season, last played for the Milwaukee Bucks. The young veteran has bounced around the league but he has been unable to stick with any franchise. A gifted passer, he could immediately step in as a starter at the point guard position for the 76ers who have a dearth of talent at that spot (and nearly all others.)
While Marshall would likely not be a part of the Sixers’ future, he could help the team in the development process. It is hard for the front office to evaluate talent such as Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel offensively without someone to pass them the ball. Therefore, Marshall would be a great addition on a minimum one year deal, during which he could showcase his talents to the rest of the NBA to net a better deal with a better team in 2016. If contract talks go through, this could be a win-win situation for all parties involved.
